Simplicity in Jesus

We have many translations of the original scriptures, and everyone can select a translation that is meaningful to them. One verse affects an individual differently from someone else, depending on the words used in a translation. Therefore, in this world of chaos, disorder, and upheaval, the New King James Version (NKJV) translation of 2 Corinthians 11:3 was chosen for this post.

2 Corinthians 11:3 NKJV (emphasis added)

3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

It is time to stand steadfast in our salvation and prepare for the changes to come by not neglecting the simplicity that is in Christ Jesus.

Salvation is simple. Walking with the Lord is simple. It is good to do in-depth studies and meditate on the Word.  It is good to search out the scriptures for the deeper meaning.  However, this is a time for us to return to our first love, enjoy our salvation, and share that joy with others.

The Lord instituted a simple approach to salvation and righteousness through Jesus. The elementary principles of faith are simple. Under the power of Holy Spirit, loving God and our neighbor is simple. Resting in His grace is simple.

In today’s environment, let us keep it simple and win the world with the simplicity that is in Christ Jesus.  We may not have time to go into another in-depth study of the Word. We need to help others and ourselves to reach on the shores of the Kingdom of God.

May the Lord give us daily wisdom to share the elementary principles of the faith with someone who needs to become a disciple of our Lord and Savior, Jesus!

Song to Share: Go Tell It on the Mountains

Below are the last two stanzas of the original lyrics.

Chorus:
Go, tell it on the mountain
Over the hills and everywhere
Go, tell it on the mountain
That Jesus Christ is born.

4. When I was a seeker
I sought both night and day
I sought the Lord to help me
And He showed me the way. Chorus:

5. He made me a watchman
Upon the city wall
And If I am a Christian
I am the least of all. Chorus:
